Woohoo! It's my favourite time of the year - Halloween! I love everything about it; the costumes, pumpkin carving, scary monsters, ridiculous amounts of delicious candy and chocolate and the annual Halloween Art-A-Thon at IllustratedATCs. This weekend, it's time to trade lots of Halloween ATCs with my fellow artists. Above are a few from last year's art-a-thon, all in acrylic. This year (below), I started off in markers and ink but I'm switching over to acrylic for today. No work at all today, I'm just painting pumpkins and witches.
Here's one of the sketches from my life drawing session yesterday. It's not too bad. I think this was a 15 minute pose. I didn't have the best figure drawings yesterday. Sometimes you hit a few winners and sometimes you suck. I did draw a REALLY bad set of feet with extreme foreshortening. It was tough and they still looked ridiculous. Feet are on the practice list.
Love the Halloween pics and the sketch is wonderful! Valerie

Openly giving you kudos for the most thrilling visit, your art, oh my, awesome x 10, just brilliant and salivated over some past posts too! Feet and hands always take too much time in a life drawing class, totally sure you would succeed with that too :) those twins via 'the Shining' all good, but those, creepy (in the best way)!!!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I LOVE your life drawing with bits of white and your ATCs are so bold and fun. Real eye candy here, thank you! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe blue monster is so delightful. It's always interesting to look at life drawings exercises: it's really great what you can accomplish in 15 minutes of work!
ReplyDeleteAll your ATCs are so inventive and such fun. I like the sad blue furry creature hugging his pumpkin. Your figure drawing is beautiful. Her flesh looks so rounded and warm, with just those few white touches of highlighting. I miss the life drawing classes I used to be able to go to, so it is great to be able to see such expert drawing here.
ReplyDeleteWhoever receives these should be thrilled, they are so gruesome and wonderful. Love them all but the blue monster especially as he looks kinda sad. Can't believe that the sketch was only 15 minutes, wow!
ReplyDeleteyour Halloweeny characters are wonderful. So much fun.
