Here is my fourth face for the 29 Faces art challenge. I've gone back to digital painting and will likely stay with this medium since it's good practice. I really want to get my paintings from flat to more life like. Not necessarily realism but better flesh tones and more depth. My paintings still feel really flat to me so I'm hopeful that 30 days of portrait painting will help me some.
This is a very sad lady. She features in a few of my reference / stock photos and I've always wanted to paint her sad face since it was so expressive.
Beautiful. I feel for her :-)

Your are producing such wonderful characters, which don't seem flat to me. I look forward to the remaining 26.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you continue on with the challenge! :)
DeleteVery cool. I'm diggin' the styles you're presenting in this 29 Faces challenge. And I'm lovin' it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful face this woman has. It would be great to see a mile on her face as it would increase her face value.:) That's what they say, A smile increases your face value. Thanks, great job.

I love the expression on this one! Beautiful job. The reddish nose suggests she's been crying.
ReplyDeleteThe faces you paint and draw (whichever technique you use) are absolutely great! I like face 3 especially, the shading lines!
ReplyDeleteAww, I can almost see her shedding a tear... The expression turned out well!
ReplyDeleteThis is a cool technique and I think you have a huge potential with it. :)
aww she looks so sad. I hope we get to meet again because I need you to give me lessons on how you draw.
ReplyDeleteMad skills for painting digitally! You captured the mood so well and I sit with great envy, :)

ReplyDeleteThis is a marvellous digital painting, so artistic and skilful. Yes she does look sad, but she is a very real person, an in-depth portrait.
