29 Faces Challenge - 4, 5 & 6

Here's another set of faces for the 29 Faces challenge for February. These ones are done in acrylic and coloured pencils with ink markers. Same style for now. I might try something different later this month.

29 Faces and diners

It's time for 29 Faces again! Woo! I always love this one... not that I get far, but faces are just fun, right? I think I made it to 29 faces a few years back, and my fingers are primed to reach for that goal again this year.  I'm going to try a few styles for this set of art and see where things go. As you can see, I've gone completely different for my first two. It will keep things interesting!

Below is a journal page for the Journal52 group. This week's prompt was listen and I went more with conversation, which also includes listening skills (for most of us... except my very talkative mother - still love her!). I've always liked diner counters but you don't see a lot of them anymore, except in movies. It was my favourite spot to sit as a kid but they're pretty rare in coffee shops now. Sadly.

I also did the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge for January and I'm counting that challenge met too. Ok, I only did 22 actual paintings but they were all 5" x 7" or more, plus I painted tons of watercolor sheets for work so they count. I figure it all adds up to 30! Here's the big image of all of them, except the work stuff.

I have to get all of the art challenges out of the way before March since Mass Effect Andromeda comes out then. I will be glued to my computer, hopefully fake romancing some hot alien and saving humanity.

Happy PPF!

Strange portals and art journals

Here are a couple of recent art journal pages from this month based on prompts from Journal52.com. The top one is portal and the bottom prompt is strange. Both are done in acrylic in my new art journal (thank you, Sarah Trumpp!). I'm hopeful I can fill this journal by the end of the year.

Songbirds!

I have a new watercolor illustration set available for all of you lovely designers! This one features pretty songbirds and flowers. I painted a cardinal, blue jay and the eastern bluebird as well as the individual floral elements so you can make your own arrangements and wreaths (though there are some already included). This set is available in my own store as well as on CreativeMarket and The Hungry JPEG. A smaller set is available on Etsy too.

30 Paintings Challenge

I've been hard at work on the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge for January! Totally slacking on the blog posting part of it but that's the way I roll! :)

Here are a few of my paintings so far. You may have noticed a theme here, lol. I'm doing master studies in my own style. It's been a lot of fun painting these and making them a bit silly and/or colorful. I'm not sure I'll continue this theme through the entire month but the plan is to have at least 12 of them to make a nice wall display. These are acrylic/mixed media all 5" x 7" canvas board.

Happy PPF!

Song birds for the new year!

I'm working on a new illustration set for creative designers! This time it's songbirds to bring in the new year. This set will feature pretty little singers along with flowers, branches and a few arrangements. Plus the individual PNG elements so you can create your own designs. Will be available in a couple of days at my store.

Happy new year to everyone!
